Herod’s Tunnel

The excavation of the Herodian Street that led from the Pool of Siloam and through the city to its northern walls, is one of the most massive excavation projects in Jerusalem.  Today visitors can walk along the stepped Herodian street for a distance of 800 meters, part of it through a Herodian drainage tunnel underneath the Old City. We will visit the garden of the Song of Solomon, ascend along the stepped street and tunnel, and visit the southern wall excavations.

If time permits we will visit the central market of the Old City and a few of its secluded sites and end with a short jaunt over the roofs.
